Latest update
The Richborough (250 new houses) deadline has been extended to 5th June 2026 but as far as we can tell there are still outstanding requests for information from some important stakeholders including the elecricity providers.
There have been no recent updates on the planning portal for the William Davis application (an additional 250 new houses), all very quiet and the focus appears to be on the Richborough application.
Similarly, there has been no further update from Redrow on their plans to submit an outline planning application in spring 2026 to build 600 house to the south of Dowthorpe Hill.
So whilst things appear to be quiet at the moment please be mindful that the Richborough application could go to a full Council hearing at relatively short notice. The meeting will represent the final opportunity for those who really understand the impact that these developments will have on our community, i.e. you as a resident, to demonstrate the level of opposition there is to the prospect of 1,100 new houses being built in Earls Barton.
The hearing for the first 250 (Richborough) will be held in Corby, a bit of a trek but please start to think now if you would be able to come along. Perhaps speak to neighbours and friends about car sharing or giving lifts to those who would struggle with public transport. A large turnout would be very impactful!

Just a small selection of the display of support that we saw as we took a stroll around the village. Thank you to everyone who has put signs up with pride.

1 Feb Meet Up
Huge Thank You, Earls Barton!
Sunday’s meet‑up was incredible — over 100 people came along to show support for stopping the proposed developments in Earls Barton, including our local MP and several North Northamptonshire Parish Councillors and Earls Barton Parish Councillors. Your presence made a real impact, and we’re so grateful to everyone who took the time to stand with us.
A massive thank you as well to everyone who collected a sign and is now proudly displaying it around the village. The increased visibility is already making a difference, and it's brilliant to see our community coming together so strongly.
A few people asked about how to donate to the fundraising page, so here’s the link for anyone who would like to support the campaign:
If you’d like a large banner (£15 each), just send us a message, then make a donation through the fundraising page. Once ordered, we’ll arrange collection in the village.
Thank you again for your amazing support — together, we can protect Earls Barton.

Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who have worked tirelessly over the past week — organising, running drop-in sessions, delivering leaflets, putting up posters, and spreading the word.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who has donated to support our costs, including the printing of flyers and posters.
